چکیده :

In the contemporary era, the escalating global population has heightened the demand for residential and commercial spaces, posing challenges to the construction industry. To address spatial constraints and expedite construction, innovative methods like the top-down construction approach have gained prominence. This method facilitates simultaneous progress at multiple levels, aligning with the imperative to efficiently utilize both vertical and horizontal dimensions. Risk management becomes crucial in the dynamic construction environment, especially with the complexities of top-down construction. Various risks, including natural hazards, financial challenges, and design issues, necessitate meticulous risk assessment and response strategies, aligning with industry standards. Researchers have explored its application in diverse projects, Challenges like ground deformations, soil subsidence, and structural concerns have been addressed through case studies, with emphasis on the importance of careful design and construction planning. Future insights involve optimizing techniques, integrating technology, ensuring sustainability, refining risk management, understanding community impact, global case studies, regulatory frameworks, training, and long-term structural performance evaluation. The studies in this field highlights opportunities for further exploration, shaping the future of top-down construction methodologies.
