The Influence of Contract and Management on Successful delivery of Mega Projects: Case of London Olympic 2012

چکیده :
The successful delivery of large-scale construction projects is an intention for almost every participating entity within the industry. However, planning and implementation of the major construction projects frequently lead to delayed completion, augmented associated costs and loss of opportunities and profit. While numerous circumstances and events are connected to the failure of construction projects, the study of the successful major projects and the review of their approach from the outset can be inspirational for fulfilling the objectives of future projects. By assessing the development legacy of the London Olympic Games 2012, this paper attempts to highlight the role of the partnering and organizational structure, the contract and project management systems, dispute avoidance and resolution approach to the success of the program of the Games. The review is expected to draw attention to the establishment of integrated processes from the outset to provide a dynamic response to the project requirements, changes, and uncertainties as they unveil throughout the life of the projects.
